For anyone who plays accordion

I want to start laying accordion, and for starting, I was thinking about getting wither a 48 or 72 b, but I'm not sure whether or not I should get ons, or a keyboard. Which one is easier, and which one is better in the long run? Does the keyboard work like a piano key board where you have a bunch of finger combinations?
