Torn Ligament help please?

I tore my MCL 6 weeks ago and before i couldn't really bend my leg up or back but now it's getting better and doesn't hurt when i bend it up. Should i start running on it? (slight jogging possibly) i've our first 2 games of the season already for football. But i go to my doc wednesday but i really want to try to get back to playing by next week
